Social Security 101

This is an introductory training to the basics of Social Security law. The training will include an introduction to various Social Security benefits, including Social Security and SSI Disability benefits. Auxiliary benefits available to surviving spouses, dependent minor children and adult disabled children based on the earnings record of a retired, disabled, or deceased wage earner will be discussed. Additional information will be provided concerning the financial eligibility for SSI and Social Security benefits. Finally, the medical eligibility for both Social Security disability and SSI disability will be provided with a focus on the 5-step sequential evaluation.
